Types of Nauta Mixer

  Non - Supported Screw Model  
  • An important engineering development with the MIKRONS Nauta mixer is the non-supported screw design in sizes upto 1000 litres volume.

  • In this case, bottom support is not required for the screw. As a result, the lower portion of the cone is of modular construction.

  • These opening may be used for a discharge valve, cleanout port, lump breaker, porous diffuser plates for air drying, spray attachment, etc.

  • An additional benefit of the MIKRONS mixer with non-supported screw is that materials can be discharged directly from the bottom of the cone; rather than through the side, this will not only speed up product discharge, but will also greatly enhance discharge of difficult-to-move materials.

  MIKRONS Mixer series may also be equipped with a bottom-supported screw for higher capacity model involving heavy materials or specialized applications. The screw may be supported by a pintle bearing.  
  Twin Screw model  
  The twin screw mixer is suitable for mixing and blending a wide range of materials both in powder and paste forms. To the triple action of the single screw a fourth is added intermixing between two screws. Mixing time is up to 90% faster  
  Vacuum operation  
  Vacuum mixers are available in case of applications that are designed specifically for mixing heavy paste products. Mechanical seals are provided for these mixers.  
  Generally nauta mixers are used for drying purpose, Those mixers which are used for drying are provided with MS jacket and limpet coil.

  The blender used in pharmaceutical industry comes with ribbon shaped agitator as against the screw design. The agitator is mounted vertically and rotates at close clearance to the conical vessel walls. Materials being mixed are moved in axial and radial directions by the agitator. The outer helix moves materials from the walls up and the screw moves materials from the bottom to the top of the vessel. The cone design helps to insure a complete discharge of all materials.
